OCTOBER 19th?

Well, I have another update on the return of Car Calls. It looks like it will be Sunday, October 19th. I am still keeping mum on the station and time as there are still contracts to be signed and I am a little bit superstitious. The new website is also progressing well, and I am excited to announce that we are working on getting the show webcasted as well. Think of it. you can watch us do the show while you are listening! We are also talking about doing an online exclusive webcast each week as well.

That's all for now! C-ya!

Car Dealers NEED Help!

I know, I know, you think all car dealers and salespeople are slime balls, right? Well, if you actually got to know a few of them, you would be absolutely RIGHT! But there are slime balls in EVERY profession and industry, especially ones that have to SELL. But one thing is for sure...there are a lot more honest, nice and good people working in the car business and they too have families and they too are being really hurt right now by the current financial crisis in America.

Right now, car dealers are dropping off like june bugs in a bug zapper. Here in Los Angeles, I have seen THREE Chevrolet, a Cadillac and about TEN Ford dealerships shut their doors. I just read that one of the largest Chevrolet dealers in the country has filed for bankruptcy.

How can you help?

First, if you are in need of a new or used car, truck or SUV, NOW IS THE TIME! The most common question I am asked is "When is the best time to buy a car?" My stock "jokey" answer is "Tuesdays at 3:14pm!" Well, let me tell you, NOW really is the time. Car dealers need to move stock and need cash flow to stay open. They will make you a great deal.

Second, if you see or hear an ad for a local dealer, let them know that is why you came in to their dealership instead of the hundreds of others you could have gone to. Let them know that their hard spent advertising dollars are working. This is important because as they slow down, they need to cut back on advertising expenses, and if they reduce ads that work to bring business in, and keep ones that don't, they are losing even more money. I was at a dealer the other day and they have large pick-up trucks on sale. These are BRAND NEW...$14,995. The sticker price is over $26,000! Again, if no one knows that these trucks are there, how can they sell them? ADVERTISE! You, as a consumer, can help them assiting in their tracking of ads.

Ok, that is all. I just had to get that out their because I have friends in the biz that are really hurting right now, and the general public has stopped buying cars, even though, financially, NOW is the BEST time to do it!

Also, I know I mentioned in the last post that I would announce our new home on a local Los Angeles station...well, I still can say it officially, but it's call letters begin with "K."

Till next time!

I'm Dan Rosenberg and THAT was Car Calls. See ya!
